You are also right that we should honor tradition and vintage style, as the youngsters in China do, rather than these newfangled flag colors. Also, the tri-color theme might not have that profound of a meaning to the youth of China. Back in the old days, those 3 colors together was a symbol of sports or all things sporty. You'd see them in stripes on track suits, uniforms and white socks. I think it's more of a vintage thing than "a sign of support" for those 3 countries.
