The Disgrasian statement captures well the value of Stylites commentary and photos. While Stylites is fun and quirky, its level of meaning goes to the visual indications of the depth of social and cultural change that Chinese society is undergoing at a rapid pace.
I would like to see some commentary on the age groups affected by such change – is there an over 30 crowd that partakes of the internationalist trends? Or are some actually feeling alienated? And a little more on areas outside Beijing – perhaps Xian or Hanzhou? Or even comments about the 20 something age group in Europe that is trying life in another setting.
