But I too am against the shoes - I'm all for one focal point at a time and think black shoes would better allow his tie to stand out in all it's dotty glory! The outfit is indeed over-the-top, but that is clearly his intent. The only thing that is "against the rules" is the shoes, but he is certainly entitled to flout convention.
