Uighur Rockers
These two, from Xinjiang, are students at the Central Academy of Drama. They also play in rock bands in old country. The ideal, these two say, is to be in movies abroad. Apparently there are about ten or so Uighurs studying at the school.

on a side note the People’s Republic is getting pretty good – a renaissance -there is a lot of competition but the opportunity for talent to shine is always there
Fellow with the buttons would certainly stand out in Xinjiang; Uighurs not exactly known for fashion.
I don’t think the army guy is rocking as hard as his friend. In fact I don’t know why he’s in this shot
I originally just wanted to take the one in black, but he wouldn’t be photographed without his friend.

i actually really like the contrast b/t the 2 boys – both mixed different elements well and the pop of neon blue just gave that much needed-kick … xx
i think the man in black is more like a rocket that the man in blue jacket. he has no impact as a rocker.
