Sanlitun Village is a favourite location to dress according to new fashion trends or in a more distinctive style without attracting too many glances, but Beijing TV presenter Barbie takes the art of multicolour dressing to new heights.

Now without a gas mask, here is one of the models from the Chi Zhang show last night.
I ran into adventurer and model, Even, at Strawberry Festival.
If Weibo (China’s twitter) is any gauge, the real style icon of the Lane Crawford x Opening Ceremony event this past Saturday was less Chloë Sevigny than aspiring actress Xin Yuan. I posted this photo on Weibo on Sunday and it has already been passed on (@ed) 103 times. This is, of course, just one of many photos circulating on Weibo of this young actress. Her dress is designed by a Beijing-based brand called Chictopia.
She is rising actress.
On the third level of Sanlitun Village, here is Johnny again.

Seen before in a different pair of floral tights, Even is adored by both the hipster boys of Beijing and fashion magazines looking for a model that represents hip youth in China today. I chatted with her for a few minutes about her travels and other things.

Cao Difei was one of the more dapper men at the bazaar party.

At a Lane Crawford party, Anina is one of the better-known foreign models operating in China. She also runs a major fashion website.
Her jacket is by Beijing-based designer Liu Lu.
Anina可能是最有名的在中国工作的外模。她的彩色服装的品牌是LU 12.28。

Cao Difei with the Creative Director of Loewe was on the porch of the pre-Communism US embassy, now home to French restaurant Maison Boulud, after a fashion show by Loewe, Spain’s answer to Hermès.
Cao Difei is quite interesting. Beyond being a fashion expert with an extensive collection of colognes, he is also an accomplished singer of traditional Beijing Opera. This movie on youku (in Chinese) talks more about his life and hobbies.
支持人曹涤非是个特别有趣的人。除了对时尚很了解以外,他还唱京剧。在优酷上可以看到关于他生活的电影。
Cabbeen’s collection won him the overall award for best designer at this year’s fashion week, and Wang Yutao won it for menswear. Model Sean was in both shows and he says he prefers the Wang Yutao’s collection for Beauty Berry.

After walking the runway of the last show of China Fashion Week, Mihuang by Qi Gang, Wawa was in at least ten shows.

The Versace SS ’10 show was held in a former factory at 798, which was also the venue for much of Beijing Fashion Week. The reception brought out Beijing’s most stylish editors, stylists, PR executives, and creatives and most of them lit up. It seems the relationship between fashion, champagne and cigarettes is international and enduring.
Here are an actress and a director.

My parents rarely allowed television in the home. I didn’t become accustomed to its presence, so I am rarely bothered that the set in my Beijing hutong home gets no signal. An unfortunate result, however, is that I have not seen Cao Difei hosting on Beijing Television (BTV). I had run into him several times without realizing that he was a bit famous. Cao Difei grew up in a hutong in Beijing and has been at BTV since 2001. More on him later.
This is rather interesting given that this actor (of the stage, I believe) is actually form Beijing. I don’t know that I have ever glimsed someone as fashionable as with this particular color.

This look may be (mercifully?) less startling than the usual eye candy appearing here, but I rarely see traditional Chinese attire looking so nice. It’s mainly the color. London-born James Chau is morning and lunchtime presenter of CCTV-9′s News and World Wide Watch. A contributor to the Evening Standard and the Sunday Mirror, he graduated from Cambridge University and King’s College London. Check his website, blog, and fanclub blog. James said he had heard that I was very “fun”.
