While at the Luisaviaroma event in Florence I met Mathieu Lebreton, one of the creators of the major French fashion site ykone.com. Here is an interview with me (in French) on that site.

我在Luisaviaroma的活动在意大的时候认识了做这个法国网站的人。他们后来就采访过我(法语)。

Your real name: Nels Frye
You live in: Beijing
The name of your blog: Stylites

Reason why you choose that name?
When I first started this blog, I was feeling very isolated and hermetic. One of my favorite characters in history is Simeon Stylites, a Christian ascetic who sat on a pillar for over forty years in the Forth and Fifth centuries.

When did you start writing the blog?
I started this blog over four years ago, though it wasn’t always so focused on fashion.

What is currently your favourite fashion style?
I think it is girls wearing traditional men’s shoes like oxfords and tasseled loafers. I actually don’t like heels.

Do you have a favorite designer / brand ? Not really. For myself, I rather like Paul Smith, vintage YSL, Chester Barrie, Harris Tweed, and Santoni.

What did you like most in Florence / at the LuisaViaRoma event ? The whole thing was quite great. This was partially because of the location, Florence, which is one of the most beautiful and – even more important – walkable cities in the world. I particularly liked our visit to the Cavalli Club and the styles I saw at the party at Luisaviaroma.

Anything else to add ? Another thing contributing to my enjoyment of the event was that the mix of bloggers was good. There were surprisingly few pretentious, surly types. Everyone was very upbeat and ready to share.
