The Cavalli Club – 在卡沃利夜总会

This has been the most interesting stop in Florence so far. Last night’s party was here though tonight is supposed to be in an even hipper establishment.

Roberto really outdid himself. The church housing the excess has not been touched but the entire place is pimped out in the distinctive style of the designer.

I think the spirit of excess and kitsch worked better here than it does in his fashion collections.

Every type of alcohol is branded.

There are a range of cocktails relying on Cavalli vodka.

Which comes in boxes using the print of yet another animal.

And every section of table has its own cloth in prints that should be familiar to the true Cavalli enthusiast.

The red wine was actually quite good. I wish I could have a case of this for a party at my place in Beijing.

The spirit of the original church was actually maintained in some respects.

Formerly mainly a nightclub, a series of run-ins with the law made the management make the restaurant the main focus.

The only thing that was uniform throughout was the leopard print chairs.

The spirit of amity and fun was another unifying theme.

And here is Yu-Ming, founder of leading sneaker blog Freshnessmag. He was born in Guangdong and came to the US at age six.
