CAPITALE NORD  SUSTAINABILTY

Even at a small scale we should all strive to make a difference when it comes to sustainability. Fashion is the worlds second most polluting industry.

At CAPITALE NORD we strive to make a difference, even if its just a drop in the ocean, we feel good about not adding more waste in the environment.

Not wanting to be labeled as ‘Green wash’ we made sure that we can have clear and traceable green initiatives implemented in our small production run. We started with the simple question: where can we start making a difference? It took a year of research to develop a few initiatives based on the 6 ‘R’s’ (Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Recycle, Rot).

Reduce: We developed a production process made to have minimal inventory and thus reducing our production runs to a minimum based on our customers needs not on factories minimal bulk orders.

Reuse: We have started in partnership with Pawnstar in Shanghai to reuse their unwanted second hand clothing to Upcycle them into brand new designs. We also actively reuse all the materials that result from production (fabric off cuts,Polycarbonate bags, cardboard boxes, etc) in different and creative ways. We also introduced a no plastic packaging policy for our packaged good, we make fabric packaging which can be used as bags by our customer after purchase.

Recycle: we actively work with the local community, recycling all that can be and giving it to the local small recycler to help their livelihoods.

Rot: The scourge of cardboard boxes resulting from Taobao parcels his now welcomed as prime material for compost, mixed with the left over pulp from our daily fresh pressed juices. All our composts goes back to the community or to nourish are office plants.

We also have other sustainable policies: No fabric wash after apparel manufacturing (to save water waste and pollution); all our products are 100% Vegan (no leather, no wool)
