One good thing about being in Beijing for so long is that I can really watch people change and form relationships with the people I photograph. Cecaa is one of the more stylish people in the city. Here he is four-and-a-half years.
A look like this just didn’t exist back then.
People often ask me if I get inspiration from the people I photograph in Beijing and my answer seven years ago was “no”. Â Now, I think it would be “all the time”. Â I would love to be able to sport shawl lapels in that kind of casual way.
