Stay Cool

Here and I thought Jeffrey only drank champagne. It turns out that this is the second time that he tried water.
The suit is Shandong silk.

This isn’t the usual sort of content I put on Stylites, but I thought it would be nice to give viewers an idea of just how nice a garden wedding in Beijing can be.

This color is probably a bit safer than white for wedding guests. This lovely couple in an intensively green wrap dress and a midnight blue bespoke double breasted suit came in for George Wang’s wedding from Tokyo.

Dressing up for a summer wedding can be a difficult task, especially when in China the bride wears not only white but also red at the same event. This party guest at George Wang’s recent garden themed wedding made a perfectly elegant choice.
Just back from studying for three years in NYC, this blogger and Okay magazine editor was in Shin Kong Place to witness the unveiling of the DKNY Fall collection.

Now here is a great example of a well put together look. The last time I met Meng Yao was also at Jam Bar’s monthly flea market event, but this time I can’t help but admire her flowing dress and rough metal accents.

Maybe it’s the gamine haircut, the striped dress, or the smile, but she really reminds me of Jean Seberg in Breathless. The timeless and jaunty style of Godard’s first feature film comes to Jam Bar. Wang Xiaolv is also one of the two chatting hipstresses in this photo.
Taken a little while ago outside of Lane Crawford, what an exuberant but still ethereal kind of ensemble!
One of the best online resources for the streetwear fanatic, Berlin’s def-shop.com offers a huge range of hip-hop, skater and other urban styles at very reasonable prices made even more attractive by the ongoing summer sale. Beyond affordability, thoroughness is a hallmark of this site. Items are helpfully organized by styles – like “hip-hop” and “skater” and also fit, so customers don’t have to spend time with Carrot Fit or Baggies, if they are after Skinnies, obviously my choice.
They are available in just about every color one could possibly want. Especially novel are the Raw Blue Basic Skinny Fit Jeans in Green (above). These would go nicely with a slim cardigan and perhaps even, rolled up, with tasseled loafers. This is to say that there are many items from the skater/streetwear repertoire that could be incorporated into a more traditionalist look like my own.
Especially comprehensive is the shoe selection. From K1X gray wool boots (above) to the K-Swiss Hof III CVS VNZ Sneaker Classic in Blue/White (below).
Again, these are styles “street” enough to…well…be on def-shop.com, but still classic enough to grace the wardrobes of more mature males, who might be evolving into a more understated style.
Today commemorates the birth of the American nation and the one day set aside each year where overt displays of patriotism are not only welcomed, but encouraged. On this day the American flag T-shirt paired with cornflower blue trousers and bright white sandals—what I imagine Uncle Sam would wear on summer vacation—would not be in minority among the crowds of flag-waving parade goers.

Well, I am not sure if they are actually lockers. She, however, is definitely Vega Wang, one of Beijing’s best known young fashion designers.

This is quite a nice simple, summer look for the office or a stroll.
